After all the troubles with the A-line, I’m now thinking gores might be the way to go for me. Surely it would be easier to do full seams from the get-go, that can taper over my hips, than fuss with darts and worry about the pooch at the bottom of the each one. (Let’s just pretend that I sew seams straight and with a consistent seam allowance.)
I mean, I own gored skirts that don’t fit right, but they just aren’t built for a long torso with a crazy waist-hip differential.
Fabric.com has this free download for a gored skirt. I’m smart enough to take that line drawing and repurpose it to fit my own body, right? Sure I am.
